Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils celebrate the anniversary of a woman's right to vote
This year marks 100 years since the Representation of the People Act was passed and today we celebrate the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage. On 6 February 1918, all men and some women got the right to vote - a huge milestone and key date in women's history, as well as in our country's history, and of course much progress has been made since then.
Nationally, women are being encouraged to celebrate using their right by posting 'I vote' pictures on social media under the tagline #Vote100. Thank you to everyone who got involved in campaign within the districts. Women pictured celebrating their right to vote are officers and councillors from Chiltern & South Bucks District Councils, staff from Chesham Town Council, as well as residents.
