Flats and communal areas

The current recycling collection service to flats and communal dwellings has been reviewed. An enhanced recycling collection service similar to the service that households receive is currently being rolled out.

Wherever possible maisonettes, flats above shops and smaller blocks of flats are on the same fortnightly collection service as households, these properties will have already been provided with individual containers for weekly food waste collection.  Please refer to the pages on household waste collections for more information in this instance.

For all other sites the new recycling service is being implemented gradually on a phased approach and we will write to those affected by the new service, ahead of any changes taking effect.

General household rubbish is collected either on a weekly or fortnightly basis, from large blocks of flats, from bulk bins hired from South Bucks District Council. Please contact if there are any non-collection or maintenance issues with your bins.

Please note that only waste inside the bins will be collected, this is a domestic refuse collection service so no bulky household items will be collected. If you have any bulky waste items please refer to Collections for large items.

We are currently working to ensure all sites have adequate containers for mixed recycling, paper and food waste. The Recycling in Flats leaflet provides more details on what and how flatted properties can recycle.
