Electoral registration canvass is in full swing

Making sure your details are correct on our electoral register is vital if you want to vote in local or national elections. Each year we send every household in the District a Household Enquiry Form (HEF) which lists members of your household. All we need you to do is check that the details we hold for your household are correct or not, this ensures everyone who is eligible gets their chance to vote.

If all the details on the HEF are correct all you need to do is confirm this either by phone, text or online. If details are incorrect or if you need to add someone you will need to go online. This is not a registration form, but you do need to complete it. The information you provide will enable us to send a separate individual registration form to all the people in your household who are eligible and need to register. Those who are eligible can also register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

Residents are being encouraged to respond to the form as soon as they can. Not only does this take away the worry of having to remember to do it but it also saves the taxpayer money with fewer reminders having to be posted.

Reminders will be sent out to those who didn't respond to the first letter, and residents who still haven't responded by August 31 will receive a visit from a council official. It is a legal requirement to respond to the form.
