Chairman's Community & Volunteering Awards 2019

Do you know a person or group who have made a real difference in your local community? If so, nominate them for a Chairman's Community Award.


The closing date for nominations is Friday 15 March 2019 with the award ceremony being held on Thursday 11 April 2019 at South Bucks Council Offices, Capswood, Denham, UB9 4LH.

Who is the award for?

Anyone who meets the criteria below, doing a voluntary role in South Bucks. Multiple awards will be given in both categories. Winners and runners-up will be presented with an engraved trophy or certificate at the award ceremony.

The awards are kindly sponsored by GLL, our leisure providers at Beacon Sports Centre and Evreham Sports Centre, winners of the awards will receive a 12 month membership at the centres, runners up will received a 6 month membership.

An award to recognise a person(s) / group contribution to the local community.

Whether someone has dedicated their time to volunteering, cared for others, or made a difference in the community, nominate them to celebrate all the work volunteers do in our district.

For example, this award could go to a:
 

  • long serving volunteer

  • sports leader

  • carer

  • environmental project leader or team

  • champion for health

  • business in the community

  • community champion

An award to recognise extraordinary young people who make a difference to our local community and to the lives of people around them.

Young people under 18 will be recognised for their volunteering. This could be:
 

  • helping older people
     
  • fund-raising for a good cause
     
  • an unpaid role in an organisation (local football club, Brownies etc.)
     
  • being a carer for family or friends
     
  • helping in school
     
  • community champion
