Health and Safety at Work - Investigation

The local authority is responsible for dealing with problems relating to complaints regarding working conditions and for investigating certain work related accidents to identify causes and trends.

At South Bucks Environmental Health respond to complaints regarding health and safety in the workplace, and investigate accidents, if the workplace falls into the following categories;

• Offices
• Shops
• Warehouses
• Catering premises
• Customer service activities
• Places used for leisure activities
• Other non - industrial premises
• (The Health and Safety Executive deal with factories and other industrial operations).

Investigations are primarily to determine whether legislative contravention exist and to identify dangerous practices.
