Health and Safety at Work - Advice and Training

South Bucks District Council is are committed to protecting and improving the quality of life for residents and visitors to the district including health and safety of people at work and members of the public who visit work places for one reason or another.

We work with local businesses providing advice on safe management practices and endeavour to engage both employers and employees.

The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 is the basis for the services we provide and it sets out the  responsibility for regulating health and safety standards in the work place. In addition to our enforcement role based on carrying out routine programmed health and safety inspections we also provide advice and guidance on health and safety issues, investigate the underlying causes of workplace accidents and incidents, respond to complaints about poor working conditions or unsafe working practices.

Working closely with partners in neighbouring districts and with the Health and Safety Executive we endeavour to drive up standards through national campaigns.
