Skin Piercing and Related Treatments

Anyone who wishes to carry on the practice of Acupuncture, Electrolysis, Ear Piercing or Tattooing at a premises within South Bucks must be registered unless they are a registered medical practitioner a dentist or are operating under their direct supervision.

The purpose of registration is to ensure that the necessary health and safety, hygiene and public health standards are maintained in any premises where these activities are carried out.

It is compulsory to register both the premises and the operators under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982.

Model byelaws have been adopted by the Council and these can be obtained by contacting envhealth@southbucks.gov.uk.
