Community Plan

The Shape of Things to Come - South Bucks 2006-2016

This is a summary of a new plan for South Bucks. It is based on the things you've said are important to you. Things like making people feel safer, improving health, increasing community spirit, and protecting the environment.

The plan has been developed by local organisations committed to working together under the name of the South Bucks Partnership, to improve the quality of life for everyone in South Bucks. We're calling the plan the Community Plan for South Bucks. In it, we suggest the key issues for the area taking account of the views many organisations and people expressed through a Vision Day held in 2005, followed by consultation distributed to every household in South Bucks. Some of these issues are already being tackled. In cases where they aren't, we considered how we might work together to improve the quality of life, particularly where there are gaps in what is already being done and where the partnership can add real value.

This will be just the start of the community planning process, not the end. The stage after that promises to be the most challenging for the South Bucks Partnership - that of ensuring that the Community Plan makes a real difference to the way that the partners work. Most importantly we are aiming to deliver real and lasting benefits to the people of South Bucks. By working together, we will make the best use of time, effort and money.
The Partnership will review and update the content of the Community Plan regularly in response to what you have to say.

So please read on to find out what's happening to tackle the issues local people are concerned about and to read our suggestions for what we should do over the next ten years. We don't pretend that this plan is perfect and we know we're not tackling every issue that's been raised. But we really want to hear your views on it - whether we're dealing with the most important things in the right way and whether you have any ideas for other things that our partnership should be doing.

Please tell us what you think. You can comment by sending an e-mail to Rachael Winfield, Community and Partnerships Officer at South Bucks District Council or telephone 01895 837318.
