Reduction For People With Disabilities

If you, or someone who lives with you, have

• a room,
• or an extra bathroom or kitchen,
• or sufficient space to permit the use of a wheelchair in your property, to specifically address the  special needs arising from a disability, you may be entitled to a reduction in the Council Tax you pay.

The law allows the Council to reduce the band of your property to that of a property in the band immediately below.

This is to ensure that people with disabilities do not pay more tax on account of space needed because of a disability.
