Prospective Election Candidates 2010

The last General Election was held on 5 May 2005. As Parliament comes to the end of it's 5 year term, a General Election is required to be held by 3 June 2010 . One possible date is Thursday 6 May 2010.

Parliament will be dissolved by the Queen at the request of the Prime Minister and can occur at any time within the 5 years from the last election.

Prospective Candidates Information

Candidates may be from a political party registered with the Electoral Commission or they may stand as an 'Independent' rather than represent a registered party. Please see links below for further information.

Nomination Packs will be available as soon as the writ has been delivered and received by the Returning Officer, this will likely be from the afternoon of Tuesday 13 April 2010.
