Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2005

From the 1st July 2005, a new directive was introduced to allow people to apply to re-use information held by public sector organisations. This means that the information could be used for a purpose other than the purpose for which the document was originally produced.

However, public sector bodies are not under any automatic obligation to allow the re-use of any document they hold and the regulations do not apply to a document unless it has been identified by the public sector body as being available for re-use - Regulation 5 (2)(a).

At this time South Bucks District Council has not identified any information as being available for re-use and as such does not maintain an Asset List detailing such documents. The Council does not have any plans to compile an Asset List and has therefore not developed any procedures for requests to be made, charges, terms, conditions nor an application process, for a licence or a standard form licence authorising any re-use of information.
