Chiltern and South Bucks Strategic Partnership
The South Bucks Partnership was in existence for some years and was made up of representatives from the private, public, voluntary and community sectors. In April 2013, as part of the Chiltern and South Bucks District Councils’ programme to develop shared services, the South Bucks Partnership agreed to merge with the Chiltern Community Partnership to form the joint Chiltern and South Bucks Strategic Partnership.
This Partnership has an important role in encouraging community leadership, working together to deliver new initiatives and effective and efficient delivery of local services. It provides a strong collective voice for the many organisations involved in delivering services for the people of Chiltern and South Bucks. By working together, we make the best use of time, effort and money.
An important job of the partnership is to develop a common understanding of the challenges facing the District and a shared set of priorities for the Districts. This is done through the Sustainable Community Strategy 2009 - 2026, which also contains a vision for improving the quality of life for all those who live, work or visit the district. It is based on the things you have said are important to you. Things like making people feel safer, improving health, increasing community spirit, and protecting the environment. It is in the process of being refreshed in conjunction with the Chiltern Sustainable Community Strategy, to form a joint Chiltern and South Bucks Sustainable Community Strategy 2013 – 2026.
So please read on to find out what is happening to tackle the issues local people are concerned about and to read our suggestions for what we should do between now and 2026. We do not pretend that this plan is perfect and we know we are not tackling every issue that has been raised. We really want to hear your views on it - whether we are dealing with the most important things in the right way and whether you have any ideas for other things that our partnership could be doing.
We hope that you will play a part in helping to shape your District and your future and we welcome your feedback on how well we are doing. If you have an issue you feel is of strategic importance to the District you are invited to contact a member of the Steering Group who will raise the issue for consideration.
In the following links you can find out more about the partnership, its membership, how it operates and what improvements have been made.
