Consultation - How we find out what residents need and expect

Everyone living in South Bucks is different. We all have a unique set of needs and views. It's our job to understand and respond to them. We aim to put our customers at the heart of everything we do to provide the services that meet your needs and views.

One way to stop barriers happening is by involving lots of different people, and finding out what they actually want from a service. This process is called consultation. It's about effective two-way communication, by giving you plenty of opportunities to have your say, either about us and the services we provide, or about other important things that affect you as residents.

We are keen to ask residents what you want from the services we provide, and what you think of what's on offer. We don't want to create barriers to certain groups using our services, and if people aren't using our services we want to find out the reasons why so we can make changes to improve how we meet peoples' needs. We also want to find out what people think about our policies, strategies and plans.

Does it make a difference?

  • Findings from consultations help providers and decision makers understand what users think of their service and whether they could be doing anything differently.
  • Consultation results on less service specific topics can help decision makers determine what the priorities and concerns are of the residents within the district for a range of issues and use this information to help them design policy or focus resources.
  • The results of consultation provide only part of the information upon decisions are made, such things as resource constraints and competing demands also influence.

On this page you can link to our 'Current Consultations' page, here you will find a list of all the issues that we are currently consulting residents on. Click on the relevant link to make your views known and to play your part in making the District a better place to live and start making a difference now.

We recognise that we must keep you informed and updated about what actions were taken as a result of consultation this way you will be able to see what effect your input had on the District.

If you would like to let us know about particular issues that affect you in the District, you can do so in any of the following ways:
