Environmental Improvement Scheme

The Council undertakes environmental improvement works, which includes street furniture.  In a recent scheme, Beaconsfield Old Town underwent its own renaissance; this beautiful and historic Conservation Area was provided with new street lighting on London and Wycombe Ends and around the central roundabout. These new lights were modeled on existing lights found in Windsor End and are Georgian in style and more in keeping with the Conservation Area. This sensitive and well-supported program of enhancements has carefully balanced the traditional appearance of the area and improved safety and public access.

Other schemes include:

  • Burnham High Street - new seating area with ornamental feature and planting.
  • Hedgerley village shops - seating, lighting, litter bins and planting beds.
  • Richings Park - seating, lighting, cycle racks and litter bins.
  • Taplow Riverside Conservation Area and Fulmer village - new street lighting.
