What happens next?
A number of the early core strategies submitted to the Government for independent examination elsewhere in the country were found to be 'unsound'. Those authorities involved had to withdraw their core strategies and start them again from scratch. This resulted in significant additional costs for these authorities as well as a delay of several years in their LDF timetables. South Bucks District Council reviewed its position on its Core Strategy and concluded that further work is needed on the Core Strategy before the submission to the Government. The Council has therefore undertaken further evidence studies and is looking at a wider range of options. Following this work, a new Core Strategy option papers will be published in early 2009, seeking views on alternative scenarios for the future of South Bucks.
