Local Development Framework

A Local Development Framework (LDF) will comprise of a series of separate, but linked documents called Local Development Documents (LDDs), which together will provide the framework for delivering the spatial planning strategy for the District. There are several types of Local Development Document.

These are:

  • Development Plan Documents (DPDs)
  • Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs)
  • Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)
  • Area Action Plans (AAP)

Development Plan Documents must be in general conformity with the South East Plan . When adopted, they will, together with the South East Plan, constitute the statutory Development Plan for the District.


As well as LDDs, Local Planning Authorities are also required to prepare a Local Development Scheme, Proposal Maps and an Annual Monitoring Report.


The South Bucks Local Development Framework will comprise of the following documents: (Please note that no Area Action Plans are proposed)

The Council is preparing the South Bucks Local Development Framework. The Local Development Framework will guide the planning of the District to 2021.
