Refuse and Recycling Centres

Continued successful recycling is achieved by the residents’ participation in the following schemes:

  • Fortnightly front of property paper, card, glass and cans collection service. Residents are provided with boxes free of charge, upon request, which are collected on the same day as the refuse but not necessarily at the same time.  Paper and card must be put in the black boxes supplied, and glass and cans in the green boxes.  Select this link to view leaflet for collection dates.

  • All paper waste is accepted at recycling banks.  This includes cardboard, food packaging and telephone directories.

  • All recycling boxes must be put out at the front of each property boundary, where the front path or drive meets the road.  If recycling boxes are not visible from the road they will not be collected.

  • Mini recycling centres can be installed in flats where boxes are unsuitable.

  • Please call the Recycling Officer on 01895 837362 to discuss.

  • Real Nappies: To request a free Nappy Information Pack which includes The Nappy Guide along with a £30 Cash Back claim form, please either call Bucks Real Nappy Initiative on 01296 382539 / email realnappy@southbuckscc.gov.uk or download direct from our website www.recycleforbuckinghamshire.co.uk. Please visit our website which has everything you need to know relating to The Nappy Guide, The Real Nappy Handbook, £30 Cash Back, Bucks Real Nappy Library Kits, local and national nappy suppliers, events and more! “

  • Composting  - up to 30% of an average household’s waste is organic and can be composted. This not only saves valuable landfill space but the end product replaces peat as a composting agent which in turn preserves some of the country’s valuable wildlife sites. SBDC has launched a home-compost bin offer.

  • Recycling Facilities: please only put into the recycling banks the dry recyclables specified on the outside of these containers. Contamination with other material can cause the load to be rejected. Please avoid leaving materials around the containers plus other materials that are not collected i.e. general rubbish.

All the following have facilities for plastic, paper, glass bottles and cans. Textiles and books can be taken to the sites marked with a *
