Demolitions - Control and Advice

The demolition of buildings is controlled under Sections 80 & 81 of the Building Act 1984. We ensure the correct procedures and notifications are undertaken prior to the demolition. Please notify us before commencing the demolition of a building.

The Council has six weeks to respond with appropriate notices and consultation under Sections 81 and 82 of the Act. This process normally only takes a few days.
