Planning Enforcement

South Bucks District Council is strongly committed to the effective enforcement of planning legislation. The Council has adopted a planning enforcement policy. The aim of this document is to give customers clear guidance on how complaints will be prioritised and dealt with and the timescales set for dealing with the different types of issue.

Making a complaint
If you suspect that there is a breach of planning control, please let us know. This could include unauthorised changes of use, works without permission, or works where permission has been granted but the conditions have not been complied with.

Under the policy, all planning enforcement complaints must be made in writing and all complainants' details will be kept confidential unless the Council is ordered to release such information. Anonymous complaints will not normally be investigated. If you do not want to give your details you may wish to consider contacting your Local Councillor or Parish or Town Council to make representations on your behalf.

If the matter is urgent a Planning Enforcement Officer can be contacted on 01895 837200. Complaints taken by telephone must be confirmed later in writing or by email.

The Planning Investigation Complaint Form details the information that we need to investigate any allegation and assign the appropriate priority to it, although we may come back to you for clarification.
