Council Tax
I am disabled (or a disabled person lives with me), do I still have to pay Council Tax?
Yes. However, if you have an additional kitchen or bathroom, a room that is mainly used by the disabled person, or if the rooms in your home provide sufficient floor space for a wheelchair that is necessary for the disabled person, you may be entitled to a Council Tax reduction. Such a reduction would be the equivalent of placing your property in the valuation band immediately below your current valuation band. To apply for a reduction, please write to us. Before deciding whether you qualify for a reduction, we made need to visit you at home.
