What Happens Between Now and 2012?
Summer 2011 Further details concerning all transport arrangements for Dorney will be made available.
August 2011 The World Rowing Junior Championships will take place. This event will provide an opportunity to test Dorney Lake, ensuring all necessary preparations are made ahead of the Games in 2012.
LOCOG have set out the following programme for planning and running the games at Dorney lake:
September 2011 A Canoe Sprint event will take place, providing another opportunity to test the venue.
Winter 2011 Construction of the temporary bridge across the Thames will begin.
Spring 2012 - Installation of temporary facilities will begin.
27 July - 12 August 2012 - Olympic Games.
28 July -11 August 2012 - Olympic Rowing and Canoe Sprint events from
29 August - 9 September 2012 - Paralympic Games. Paralympic Rowing events from 31 August -2 September 2012.
September 2012 - Removal of temporary facilities.
