Energy Efficiency Grant

This is for energy efficiency measures for owner occupiers of pensionable age.

Eligible works include:

• Loft insulation (where existing insulation is less that 100mm thick)
• Cavity wall insulation
• Hot water cylinder/tanks/pipe insulation
• Draught stripping

Who can apply?
Owner occupiers of pensionable age.

How much is the grant?
The grant provides 50% of the cost of the works up to a maximum grant of £500, i.e. the home owner will be required to make a 50% contribution to the cost of the works.

Note - Owner occupiers or private tenants in receipt of certain income or disability benefits will be guided to apply for a Warm Front Grant (see below) that normally meets the full cost of the insulation measures.

Are there any other conditions?
Limit of one application per property over a three year period.
The works must be completed within four months of grant approval.

Cocoon Grant:
Private Tenants or Owner Occupiers in receipt of an income or disability benefit may qualify for a Cocoon Grant that normally meets the full cost of home insulation measures (subject to inspection of existing facilities). Contact Cocoon on 0800 80 48 777

Warm front Grants:
Warm front Grant are available if you own your own home or rent it from a private landlord and are in receipt of one of the following benefits:

Working family Tax Credit (with an income of less than £15,460 and which must include the disability element)
Child Tax credit (with an income of less than £15,460)

• Income Support
• Housing Benefit
• Council Tax Benefit
• War Disablement
