Energy Efficiency Grant

This is for energy efficiency measures for owner occupiers of pensionable age.

Eligible works include:

  • Loft insulation (where existing insulation is less that 100mm thick)
  • Cavity wall insulation
  • Hot water cylinder/tanks/pipe insulation
  • Draught stripping

Who can apply?
Owner occupiers of pensionable age.

How much is the grant?
The grant provides 50% of the cost of the works up to a maximum grant of £500, i.e. the home owner will be required to make a 50% contribution to the cost of the works.

Note - Owner occupiers or private tenants in receipt of certain income or disability benefits will be guided to apply for a Warm Front Grant (see below) that normally meets the full cost of the insulation measures.

Are there any other conditions?
Limit of one application per property over a three year period.
The works must be completed within four months of grant approval.

Warm Front Grant
Private Tenants or Owner Occupiers in receipt of an income or disability benefit may qualify for a Warm Front Grant that normally meets the full cost of home insulation measures (subject to inspection of existing facilities).
