Private Rented Housing

We can help prospective private sector tenants and people who want to let their property

Do you want to rent privately?
In addition to registering on Bucks Home Choice   (the local authority Housing Register ), you could also consider the option of renting a property in the private sector. Through the Council’s rent deposit guarantee scheme we encourage private landlords to let to households that we introduce and we help to get the tenancy started. You may be entitled to help with the rent depending on your household income / circumstances. This is called
housing benefit. Follow the link for more information about how to apply.

If you are already an existing tenant in privately rented accommodation and are experiencing difficulties with your landlord, the condition of the property or terms of your agreement we can give you advice and assistance.

Do you have a property and would like the Council to find you a tenant?
If you own a property that you are thinking of letting it and becoming a private landlord we may be able to find you a tenant and help get the tenancy started as part of the Council’s Rent Deposit Guarantee Scheme. We also provide a range of information for private landlords with links to external sources including information about Local Housing Allowance (LHA) rent levels, tenancy agreements and repairs responsibilities.
