Information for Private Landlords

Do you have a property in this District that you are thinking about renting out?

In this difficult economic climate you may be considering renting your property rather than selling it?

You may have an empty property and are not yet sure what to do with it?

There are many different reasons why people decide to become Landlords and it is important to understand the responsibilities as well as the advantages.

Follow the links below for information leaflets produced by the CLG about tenancy agreements, repairs, renting out rooms in your home and getting your property back at the end of the agreement.

The Council operates a Rent Deposit Guarantee Scheme with private landlords in this District where we can help find a tenant and get the tenancy started. For more details about the scheme including information about the kind of rents you might expect to receive, the type of properties we need and how housing benefit and the Local Housing Allowance works.
