Activities for Older People

The Council runs an over 60’s club specifically designed for either people already retired or those approaching retirement age:

Based at Cornerstone, St. Peter’s Church in Burnham, the Over 60's 'Out & About' group meets every Tuesday from 12.30 - 2.30pm. The group only meets at Cornerstone for hall-based activities, with all out and about events taking places at different venues.

Along with a door-to-door minibus service the club offers activities ranging from movement to music, skittles, pub lunches, arts and crafts activities, and shopping trips (including Christmas). On the days where the group stay indoors refreshments are provided and it is a good chance to socialise and catch up with what is happening in the area. Itineraries are provided and the group has regular opportunities to have a say in which activities are provided. There is a small charge of £2.50 per week which helps towards running costs.
