Where will the athletes be staying?
Athletes competing at events at Dorney will be accommodated in an Olympic Village on the campus of Royal Holloway, University of London in Egham. Some teams will make their own arrangements for accommodation.
Where will the main entry points to Dorney Lake be for the Olympic games?
During the Olympic competition between 28 July and 11 August there will be three main entry points to the Dorney Lake site. The main road entrance will be used exclusively by the Olympic athletes, officials and accredited media. The main spectator entrance will be via the transport hub at Windsor Racecourse, but there will be separate pedestrian access to the north of the site close to the boathouse.
Who’s Who?
The London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games will be delivered by two main organisations:
- Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) - build the venues and infrastructure for the Games
- London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG) - responsible for the preparation and staging of the Games

What Happens Between Now and 2012?
- Summer 2011 Further details concerning all transport arrangements for Dorney will be made available.
- August 2011 The World Rowing Junior Championships will take place. This event will provide an opportunity to test Dorney Lake, ensuring all necessary preparations are made ahead of the Games in 2012.
- LOCOG have set out the following programme for planning and running the games at Dorney lake:
- September 2011 A Canoe Sprint event will take place, providing another opportunity to test the venue.
- Winter 2011 Construction of the temporary bridge across the Thames will begin.
- Spring 2012 - Installation of temporary facilities will begin.
- 27 July - 12 August 2012 - Olympic Games.
- 28 July -11 August 2012 - Olympic Rowing and Canoe Sprint events from
- 29 August - 9 September 2012 - Paralympic Games. Paralympic Rowing events from 31 August -2 September 2012.
- September 2012 - Removal of temporary facilities.
