Dorney Lake
Dorney Lake uses some of the most up-to-date technology, making this venue perfect for hosting such an important event as the 2012 Games.
- The main rowing lake is 2,200 metres long.
- The lake has eight lanes, each 13.5 metres wide with a minimum depth of 3.5 metres.
- The lake is filled of water coming from underground streams percolating through a natural gravel filter.
- Algae growth is discouraged by using barley bales.

Training Camps
In addition to Dorney Lake the South Bucks area offers two further official
London 2012 Pre-Games Training Camp Venues.
The
South Bucks Centre for Riding for the Disabledin Fulmer is one of the world leading centres for equestrianism for riders with disabilities with over 40 years experience at the forefront of disability sport. The centre has a track record for producing champions including current Double Paralympic Gold Medallist Sophie Christiensen for whom the centre is home.

Snowball Farm Equestrian Centre in Burnham offers a superb range of facilities including 2 large indoor schools, one outdoor Manège and a jumping paddock. A full range of Livery Services is offered for stabled competition horses, with daily turn out. A British Eventing & Pre-Novice Cross Country course and two Riding Club courses situated within 130 acres of prime land all available to hire.
