New Youth Engagement Website
- The government has launched a website for young people to access funding, information and opportunities around youth engagement. This hub has been launched by the Minister for Youth Engagement and the plan is for there to be a parliamentary debate next month on the hot topics as seen by young people.
Sportivate South Bucks
Sportivate is a new lottery funded initiative to give young adults a chance to learn a new sport or improve on existing skills, and if they keep taking part after the course is finished, they could find themselves on their way to watch the London 2012 Olympic or Paralympics Games. All participants who complete their course, missing no more than one session, and keep playing the sport for at least another three months will be entered into a ballot for free London 2012 tickets. Fortunately for Stoke Poges residents several of the courses are very close by:

Girls Sportivate Course
Calling all ladies, have you always wanted to play football but the boys always put you off?
Ladies aged between 17 and 25 living in South Bucks now have the opportunity to play football at a low cost in a fun and friendly atmosphere at Evreham Sports Centre in Iver.
This six week introduction to football will be coached by a fully qualified and experienced female coach on a state of the art floodlight astro turf pitch. Sessions will include learning the basics such as dribbling, passing, and tackling, whilst each session will finish with fun small sided games.

The Sportivate Ladies Football Course at The Evreham Sports Centre in Iver costs just a £2 a week and will start on Tuesday 21st February 7.00pm-8.00pm. Booking is essential as spaces are limited. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
