Multi Sports Club For Adults With Disabilities Want More Members To Come Along
The new ‘Get Active’ sessions for adults with learning and physical disabilities have been successfully running at the Evreham Sports Centre in Iver since mid-October and South bucks District Council wants to encourage more people to come along and get active!
The sessions incorporate fundamental skills in a fun, challenging, but most importantly, enjoyable way. South Bucks District Councillor Shorne Tilbey, Portfolio Holder for Community says, “This is an exciting new initiative that the Council, in conjunction with its partners, is delighted to be able to offer. These sessions are a valuable addition to the wide range of activities we currently offer within the community and I hope that more of our residents will come along and give it a go. The sessions are a good opportunity to get active, learn new skills and make new friends.”
This new programme, set up by South Bucks District Council in partnership with Nexus Community and the ‘Get Active’ initiative run by Bucks Sport, takes place every Thursday from 11.30am-12.30pm. It runs in 10 week blocks and costs only £2 per session. Skills such as balance, co-ordination, movement and interaction with others, are a key part of these fun sessions.
There are still three weeks left of the current 10 week programme, so if you would like to attend or know of any groups or individuals who might be interested in coming along please contact the Sports Development Team at South Bucks District Council for further information on 01895 837233 or 01895 837368, or by email to
