Thank You to Verdant Litter Picker

Iver Parish Council showed how much their litter free streets were appreciated by thanking litter picker Charlie Mungai at their Annual Civic Reception held on the 7th March. When being presented with his certificate of achievement for making a difference by Councillor Julian Wilson, Charlie pointed out that keeping Iver’s streets clean was very much a joint effort with his colleagues at Verdant Group Ltd.

South Bucks District Councillor Bill Lidgate, Portfolio Holder for the Environment said “We’ve had a steady stream of compliments about Charlie since he started looking after Iver village centre around a year ago. He is frequently seen going the extra mile with a smile on his face and takes pride in doing the job well. I’m really pleased that we were able to thank him in person and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of his colleagues too. Our streets have become measurably cleaner in the last few years and they do a great job in all weathers.”

Charlie has worked in South Bucks collecting recycling boxes and more recently undertaking litter picking duties for seven years. Verdant Group Ltd has carried out the refuse, recycling and street cleansing services for South Bucks District Council since 1st November 2007.
