Removal Of Popular Recycling Site In Iver
South Bucks District Council would like to advise residents that the recycling bring site at the Red Lion public house in Iver was removed on Saturday 19th November 2011. This follows a request from the site owners, Chef and Brewer Pub Co, to remove the recycling facility prior to its re-opening following refurbishment.
South Bucks District Councillor Bill Lidgate, Portfolio Holder for the Environment, says, ‘We are disappointed with the decision to remove this popular recycling facility, we had offered to upgrade the site but this was not acceptable to the management. I am extremely sorry to have to remove the recycling site and apologise to the residents of Iver for any inconvenience.
He added, ‘Residents in Iver take an active role in recycling, and thanks to these efforts we are now recycling 34% of our waste. This recycling site is very popular and well used by local residents, and is an essential aspect of the recycling service we offer in South Bucks. Whilst I would question the Red Lions decision concerning this important community facility, it is their land and we have no choice but to comply with their wishes and I would encourage residents to make full use other nearby sites.
Alternative recycling bring sites nearby are High Line Yachting on Mansion Lane, Evreham Sports Centre on Swallow Street and the Bucks County Council run Household Waste and Recycling Centre on Langley Park Road,
