Get a Spring in Your Step with New Walk

A new regular health walk called ‘Simply Walk’ is starting in Gerrards Cross on Tuesday 1st March. Meeting at 10.30am at The Memorial Centre, East Common in Gerrards Cross the walk, which is supported by South Bucks District Council, is free to all.

South Bucks District Councillor Anita Cranmer, Portfolio Holder for Community, said, “The walk is an excellent opportunity for local people to join together as a community for a healthy activity that is on their doorstep”.

The benefits of walking are known to include reducing blood pressure, improving flexibility and assisting weight control.

The ‘Simply Walk’ Programme has been operating county wide for many years, and has proved invaluable for community spirit, bringing people together, tackling isolation and providing a healthy and fun way for people to make new friends in their own neighbourhood.

Walks will be approximately 1 hour long and led by trained volunteer walk leaders, walkers are encouraged to walk at their own pace and wear suitable footwear.
