Bucks Youth Games Swimming Trials
Young swimmers in South Bucks aged 7 to 10 years are being urged to attend a free open trial to represent the district at this year’s Bucks Youth Games. The trial is on Saturday 2nd April at the Chiltern Pools in Amersham from 5-6pm.
Entrants must live or go to school in South Bucks and be able to competently swim the front crawl, backstroke and breastroke for a distance of at least 25 metres. The aim of the Bucks Youth Games is to encourage grass roots development and for this reason the trial is limited to swimmers who have not represented a swimming club in any competitions prior to the trial.
Selected swimmers will be formed into a squad which will receive free training on Wednesday nights at the pool in Amersham. A final selection of swimmers for the team that will compete at the Games on Saturday 25th June will be made shortly before the event.
South Bucks District Councillor Anita Cranmer, Portfolio Holder for Community said, “The Bucks Youth Games is the largest one day multi-sport event in Bucks and it provides a great opportunity for young people to receive free training in order to represent their district and to excel at in their chosen sport”.
