Paralympics Training Venue To Host Talk And Walk

Those wanting to get a real insight into what goes on behind the scenes to prepare for the most major sporting event in the world are invited to attend a ‘Talk and Walk’ event in Fulmer.

Come along and learn more about the 2012 Paralympics through an inspiring talk at a Paralympic training venue where talented riders such as, double gold and silver medal winner at the Beijing Paralympics, Sophie Christiansen train. It doesn’t matter if you are a keen horse rider, sports follower or just want an opportunity to enjoy a bit of fresh air and learn something new, this FREE event is bound to captivate.

South Bucks District Councillor Anita Cranmer, Portfolio Holder for Community, said, “This will be a great opportunity for local residents to gain an understanding of the amazing work that the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) has achieved as well as a chance to have a good healthy walk in the beautiful countryside”.

The walk starts at Fulmer Sports Club at King George's Field, Fulmer Common Road. There is plenty of parking and is only 300 metres down the road from the centre itself. Walkers will be taken to the Centre where trustee, Di Redfern will give a short talk and tour. This will then be followed by a leisurely circular walk on Stoke Common a lovely local heath. The walk will take approximately 50 minutes.

This is a free event and there is no need to book…just turn up at the car park on Tuesday 22nd November at 10.30am and you will be guided from there.
