South Bucks District Council would like to invite all residents to come along to the ‘Health and Wellbeing Day’ taking place on Wednesday 29th February. This FREE event is being held at the Memorial Centre in Gerrards Cross between 9.30 and 12.30 pm.
The Community Portfolio holder, Councillor Anita Cranmer says “We would like to encourage residents from all parts of the district to attend this very informative and fun packed day. This is the first event of this kind we have arranged in South Bucks and depending on its success we intend to stage further events of this type across the area. We hope residents will turn out and pick up advice and information relating to health and wellbeing as well as seizing the opportunity to take advantage of the free mini health checks we have organised.”
The event will be attended by a range of organisations offering a wide variety of advice and valuable information on the many stalls. As well as mini health checks more detailed advice on particular issues will be available such as opportunities for volunteering should you feel you have some spare time on your hands to help others. In particular there will be a chance to get advice and health checks on the following:
• Free Diabetes screening
• Free Alcohol Awareness Advice
• Free Blood Pressure Checks
• Free Height Weight and BMI checks
• Smoking Cessation
• Avoiding Loan Sharks
• Money Saving Ideas
