South Bucks Seek Junior Tennis and Badminton Players

South Bucks District Council's Sports Development Team is eager to find local young tennis and badminton players for the forthcoming Bucks Youth Games.
Boys and girls in school year 4 are needed for the tennis team whilst in badminton boys are sought from school years 7 and 8. This is a great opportunity to pit your skills against opposing teams from Aylesbury, Chiltern, Wycombe and Milton Keynes.

The ethos of the games, held on Saturday 7th June in Milton Keynes, is to foster talent at grassroots and provide an enjoyable and rewarding experience. According to South Bucks District Councillor Shorne Tilbey, Portfolio Holder for Community, 'The Bucks Youth Games is an excellent way for young people to encounter, often for the first time, the thrill of district level competitions'. All trials and training are free and open to players who live or go to school in the district of South Bucks. In addition the Council will be laying on free transport for players to and from the venue in Milton Keynes.

Badminton trials take place at The Beaconsfield School on both Thursday 8th May and Monday 12th May from 5-6pm and are restricted to boys that have not represented their county, or district squad and have not been a member of a club for more than six months. The tennis trial will take place at the Burnham Tennis Association at The Stomping Ground on Stomp Road on Tuesday 13th May from 4 - 6pm and is restricted to players who do not have an LTA rating or who have not played in County competition or training sessions.
