The role and purpose of the planning service is to protect the built and natural environment while enabling appropriate change to meet the changing needs of the community. Its activities are to develop planning policy, implement it through the operation of development control and enforcement powers, and monitor the effectiveness of policy and issues impinging on it. It is governed by statute as set out in Town and Country Planning Acts, Statutory Instruments, circulars and guidance.
A 20% increase in Planning fees is expected to come into force on 17 January 2018. If you have submitted an application to us please ensure that the fee is paid in full and that all documents submitted to us comply with all statutory requirements and those on our Local List. If this is not the case, we will be unable to validate your application and thus a further fee may become payable if the information we require is not received prior to 17 January 2018. From 4 December 2017 the combined South Bucks & Chiltern Planning service will operate from the Council Offices in Amersham at King George V House, King George V Road, Amersham HP6 5AW.
All contact phone numbers and email addresses for officers within the new combined Planning service remain the same.
The joint Planning service is also in the process of digitising old paper records so paper records are not immediately available over the counter at either office. If you are unable to access planning records through the public website for either Council, please email your enquiry to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com for guidance on how access to specific records can be provided.
