Street Care and Cleaning

The council's contractor Verdant Group Plc mechanically sweeps all kerbed roads and certain busy town centre locations in the district.

This depends on what is needed to maintain the standards set by the Council.

Pavements are litter picked as often as is required to maintain the standards set by the Council. The frequency of litter picking ranges from daily to four weekly and some town centre pavements will also be swept.

As part of the council's new contract with Verdant Group Plc, a "quick response" litter and graffiti team has been introduced. Who are available to respond to incidents quickly without disrupting normal cleaning schedules.
