Stoke Poges Memorial Gardens Open Day
Members of the public are invited to a special open day at the 80 year old, Grade I listed gardens as part of the Chelsea Fringe Festival.
Stoke Poges Memorial Gardens will open its doors on Sunday 19 May from 12 noon - 5pm and will include guided tours for visitors.
Many famous and influential former residents of Buckinghamshire are interred at the Memorial Gardens and visitors will be able to hear the fascinating stories behind the beautiful plots.
Visitors will find out about the founder of the gardens and how his business empire enabled him to generously care for the local area, as well as the connections the Memorial Gardens has with the film industry and even an opera star.
There will also be stalls, installations and refreshments, as well as leaflets available for self-guided walks throughout the week.
The event is free; donations towards upkeep of the gardens are very much appreciated.
